as you probably know, the new Radiohead is out today. the interesting thing about the release is that you could buy it at whatever price you wanted--even £0.00. I opted for a £5.00 contribution, which I in the end was the average price people opted for.

what's the catch?

well, when i received the download link this morning it read:

THE ALBUM WILL COME AS A 48.4MB ZIP FILE CONTAINING 10 X 160KBPS DRM FREE MP3s.

why does this suck? well, 160KBPs isn't exactly CD quality.

This probably won't be a problem for me, but for people like Pastor Ponder Trevor Meier , the download will be a bit annoying to listen to.

(ps. on first listen, the new album is, um, well really good)
